Question:
Can I use an explosion proof device approved for gases, vapours etc.
in Ex dust areas?

Answer:
This has been allowed in the past with the old standards. For the first time the new ATEX regulations on dust have separate approvals and therefore when dust is a potential Ex hazard, only equipment approved for such areas can be used.
