Measuring an intrinsically safe circuit

Question:
Can I take measurements using a standard multi-meter on an intrinsically
safe circuit?

Answer:
Measurements of intrinsically safe circuits may only be performed by using approved measuring equipment. If the maximum limits of the intrinsically safe circuit are exceeded, then Ex protection is no longer guaranteed.
