For all work in hazardous areas only approved and/or suitable tools, measuring and testing equipment may be used. Mechanical tools (hammers, screw drivers etc) must not be capable of producing sparks. Measuring equipment must be approved for being used in Ex areas and even on intrinsically safe circuits outside the Ex area. The same applies to mobile phones, pocket calculators, torches.
